I haven't ate there for years because it was a disappointment years ago. Went back after many years, guess what it has gotten worse. We were seated almost immediately, but our order taker/waitress took 6 minutes to come to out table because she was visiting with two guys the next booth over. Telling about her shopping trip to Walmart when she got off. She took our order and never came back to check on us. Later another server shouted across the room and asked if we wanted water. $16.99 buffet was a joke. Mashed instant potatoes were some of the worse I have ever had, roast (they called it prime rib) was almost warm and very dry and tough, the server that was slicing the meat just grunted when spoken too. Almost all food items came out of a can. Polish sausage must have been a bargain bin purchase. On salad bar they had left over diced up baked potatoes they apparently covered in mustard and vinegar and called potato salad, pasta/ham salad had no flavor. Pretty much everything else was out of a can. Dessert bar was a joke, had a few baked cake bars and cookie, and talk about dried out bread, you could break a tooth.. The brownies were just odd size pieces that apparently they tried to cut and weren't successful. They just put the torn pieces on a tray. Some of the kitchen staff walked out in their aprons and smoked outside. Walked back in, never washed up and went back to work in kitchen. As for Maxine, the namesake of Grandma Max's, she would roll over in her grave. I think the Bosselman family should eat at their own restaurant and actually taste the buffet food and experience the service. On the plus side, the barbecue ribs and friend chicken were respectable and that was about it. I don't know if it will be worth trying again after they close this summer and re-open under a new name. We saw no local people dining their and I thing I know why now!!!!!!

i may drive to Nebraska just for this food... it was freaking incredible. I had the Steakhouse Burger.. two tasty patties on the best bun topped with giant (flavorful onion rings) and stabbed with a steak knife.. I was there around 8pm 11/26/11, the wait and bus staff was obviously understaffed and completely over worked,.. yet they were always pleasant, and gave awesome service. check out their menu online.. yum. plenty of under $10 entree selections

Great food and friendly service... The men's room is rather psychedelic, to say the least...

i stayed in the Motel 6 so i went here often for breakfast during my visit. good pancakes and sausage. if you get the sunday buffet the eggs are good too - pass on the waffles the girl they had served me one of the most pathetic half burned waffles ever. since i paid for the buffet i ignored it and chalked it off to experience. nice staff and place to unwind.

This is the coolest little diner ever. What could be un-cool with the name Grandma in it, anyway? We of course only had take-out because we were parked in the first truck fuel-bay which really irritates the other drivers when you are not actually.....getting fuel. OH well. So I get the waitress on the phone because I am of course not going to walk inside in 20 degree weather. I have no idea what they serve, or if they were even open. I ask her if they have breakfast and she says "yes". I then tell her exactly what I am craving and she says "done". It was like I was rubbing a magic lamp and my waitress genie had all but granted me my three wishes. My husband ordered a humungous wheat breakfast burrito with real salsa (not the cheap, packet kind) and had it devoured in seconds. I ordered the "classic breakfast" with eggs, hash-browns, bacon and a biscuit. The eggs and hash-browns were great. It is exceptionally hard to mess up breakfast food though, so maybe I am just a bit biased as I was literally starving. The woman at the front even gave us the senior discount because my husband wooed her or something, who knows? All I know is...she rocks and so did this place for accommodating us in a fast, courteous manner. I can't wait to come back to Grandma Max's!

This is a little diner in the Bosselman's truck stop. We had the nicest waitress in this restaurant. They have all you can eat salad and soup bar and other all you can eat buffet choices too. Also they have a regular menu with reasonably priced food, including a children's menu for under $5 per meal. They could tell we were frazzled from a crappy drive and they even showed us where there was an empty dining room we could let the kids run wild for a few minutes. The food wasn't anything amazing but the the service with a smile made it so much better than any fast food stop, the hot coffee and soup helped too.

This is probably a great place to eat if you're a fat trucker that wants to shovel a buffet full if fried garbage in your fat gut, but if you're looking for a halfway healthy option, keep going. This place had one vegetable which was corn, probably genetically mutated trash corn by Monsanto, you can not even get grilled chicken here. Oh, also, what is this, 1994? Who has paid wifi?

Stopped by due to the free wifi in the description. Dock one star since this was a fallacy. The only wifi available is from the gas station next door and it is pay per use. Sprung for the 24hr service. Regarding the food - Ordered the black and blue steak very rare and it was delivered perfectly cooked. The blue cheese and grilled onions accompanied it nicely. Ordered the "all the fixins" baked potato which was pretty good although I think it was reheated in a microwave. After driving all day I was hoping for a cold beer with my meal but they don't serve any here. All in all, its a great place to eat and we can park for the night alongside all the truckers and continue our journey in the morning.

STILL the worlds best coffee. Is inside a Pilot truck stop with a huge selection of travel needs. They also have gift items. I had a pork chop plate with green beans and mashed potatoes. Very good. Got a thermos of coffee to go.

Fine place for a meal. Not healthy or creative. Just a standard greasy spoon truck stop.

$11.29 for a breakfast buffet Includes waffle and omelet bar Waffles can have strawberries and chocolate chips. Waffle was not crisp, almost not done enough. Omelet toppings include green peppers onions black olives tomatoes sausage ham cheese Weird cook who can't make anything properly. If I don't make it right should I remake it? Biscuits gravy. Hard old biscuits. Gravy has sausage in it. French toast Sausage Ham Eggs Hashbrowns. Good seasonings, but they were dried out and chewy Fruit fresh apples pineapple watermelon Canned peaches and mandarin oranges Boxes of cereal but no milk Juice bar only had apple juice Dirty cloudy looking glasses Would only return if I ordered off the menu.

We ate here with our two boys last night. Nothing fancy, which is what we expected. Our food was good. Our service was good. It isn't healthy, but I liked the green chile. Also, I was bummed they were out of the mac n cheese with pulled pork because the waitress said it was delicious. A good choice for a family with boys that eat a lot.

This place is attached to a truck stop, but don't let that stop you from popping in here for a meal. The place is clean and has a great variety of "American" food on the menu. Their prices are right and portions are huge - which when you're driving all day sometimes is necessary and welcome. The truck stop itself is an interesting place, but the restaurant is pretty good. The waitresses are super friendly and more than happy to chat a bit. It's a great place to pick up on weather conditions down the highway as most of the travelers stopping in here are friendly and willing to pass on news. I got a kid's sized portion ("light eater") of chicken fried steak and it was bigger than I would have expected for a normal meal. Everything may have been smothered in gravy, but I knew what I was getting when I ordered it. The food came out quick and was tasty. They even have a special "trucker" section so that the restaurant seems a bit more family friendly.

Staying at the Motel 6 in the country side, I had the hankering for a good breakfast. I believe I found this at Grandma's. Clean classic looking restaurant.
